This page provides an introduction to the planning application process and provides additional guidance for the completion of the GPO Designs Self Survey Planning Application Form. 1.1 About GPO Designs
GPO Designs is a family run business that specialises in the preparation of Householder Planning Applications and Planning Appeals for residential extensions, conservatories and loft conversions.
Our planning application service can be used to prepare and submit your Householder Planning Permission Application. This includes the production of high quality detailed plans of your current property and any proposed extensions or modifications. We can manage the entire planning application process from your initial ideas and requirements, through to submission of the application and on to the planning decision.
We offer a fixed fee planning service under two categories: Premium and Self Survey. The Self Survey service is available nationally (England and Wales) the premium service is currently only available within Essex and a few surrounding areas. The service coverage map on our website shows the services that we offer in different areas of the country.
Premium Planning Application Service
Our Premium Planning Application service starts with a consultation at your property to discuss your requirements and following discussions we will undertake a measurement survey inside and outside your property and take exterior photographs. We then produce a draft of the Planning Application including drawings of the existing property and with the proposed modifications. Once you are entirely happy with the draft we will issue the plans and submit them to the Local Authority for their decision.
Our Self Survey Planning Service allows us to offer a Planning Application service at the best possible price. We provide a simple Self Survey form which allows you to make a sketch of your property, add measurements and describe the extension you require. From this information we produce a draft set of plans and the application forms for your review and comment. We then update the application in response to your comments and once you are fully satisfied with the application we submit the Planning Application to the Local Authority.
The Self Survey Service is the same as our Premium Service with the exception that we do not undertake a measurement survey or undertake any visits to your property. This document provides guidance which makes completing the Self Survey form relatively simple.
